Offered through the College of Education and Human Services, the Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy will train students to become fluent in their practice and will fully understand various theory in terms of evidence-based treatment plans and the human condition.
Their studies will prepare them to treat individuals for substance abuse, addiction, and other things that are causing communication problems with their loved ones.
There are 53 credit hours needed to complete the program, along with at least 500 hours of direct client therapy. At least 200 hours are needed to be done with couples and/or multiple family members.

LMFT Licensure in Nebraska
Gaining marriage and family therapy licensure in the state of Nebraska requires a certain amount of education, post-graduate experience, and the passing of a national exam. It is recommended that students gain a graduate degree at a program that is accredited by the COAMFTE.
MFT Licensure Requirements
There must be at least 300 direct client contact hours in clinical practicum sessions. At least 3,000 hours of supervised practice is needed after graduation, and half of that is also spent as direct client contact. This can be completed between a span of two to five years. National examination is distributed by the American Association of Marital and Family Therapy Regulation Boards (AMFTRB) and must be completed and passed before applying.
